Boutique 33 Spring Summer '12

A few months back along with a lovely creative team we shot the Spring Summer Lookbook for Boutique 33 - a boutique in Clifton, Bristol that's had a beautiful make over by owner Naomi.

I was incredibly inspired by Clifton Village where the Boutique is located and I really wanted the images to stick out that Clifton was where it was photographed - if you're a local, you'll certainly recognise landmarks!

Charlie Baxter

To the more eagle eyed of you, you may recognise Charlie from the shoot I did with Last Night's Victory, who Charlie is also part of!
He contacted me to do his promo shots & cover for his EP "Bass, Beats & Broken Strings'

Charlie's music is excellent! It's not my normal cup of tea but I saw his set when I shot for Last Night's Victory live in Cheltenham.
His music just makes you smile, he has so much energy he makes you feel tired watching him and his entire set screams colour!

This was our theme for Charlie's Promo images, bright, bold & completely in your face! I use my coloured gels for this first time and completely adore them!

For Charlie's more 'General' theme of Promo images we popped outside where nearby to my Studio there is some bright pink graffiti which served as a perfect background.

The Final Product! I'm super chuffed to have been the one to shoot Charlie's EP & Tom Kennedy did a great job on the Graphics!

Bristol Fashion Week SS'12

I love this time of year where we forget about the dark Winter days and embrace Spring/Summer with full force! I joined the lovely Gina Dyer at BFW this time, shooting some Street Style for the first BFW Bloggers Event at The Mall Cribbs Causeway - it was so lovely to see lots of gorgeously dressed pretty ladies!

We had the loveliest cakes and pink fizz before heading though to the show, where the lovely Gina bagged best seat in the house; end of the Runway, in the centre!

So Mark Heyes & Andrew Barton hosted the show, which was wonderful. I really loved the theatrical aspect to the shows, it was visually stunning with projections behind the Model's really giving you a feel for each scene.

I'm a very visual person so for me, it was wonderful! It was incredibly difficult to keep up with the ever changing lights but I like a challenge, and it worked incredibly well for the show!

Many thanks for the lovely girls who let me take their photo, and a huge thank you to Gina for letting me come along, and The Mall Cribbs Causeway for hosting the event.

To end, a very cheery summery photo of me & my lovely Assistant for the day, Rach before the show started!

Editorial; Midnight Colour

As we head towards Spring I thought I'd blog a bit of Colour!

I had a wonderful team for my Midnight Colour Editorial; Sarah S of Mustard Models (and Winner of Bristol's Next Top Model!) Make up by Elle Hitchens & Hair by Amy Harding.

We shot in the centre of Bristol getting quite a few looks and most people stopping to have a little nose, bless Sarah as it was utterly freezing but she did a sterling job!

Last Nights Victory.

My first shoot of 2012 was with the lovely lads in Last Nights Victory. I headed up to Cheltenham to shoot them live in early December and I have to say; it was pretty awesome. The guys are so passionate about what they do, & damn good at it. I also loved watching the guys play, hear their music live before even sitting down and talking about promos - I got to know them on a basis of what they musically are about above anything.

Joe, drummer has a lovely vintage Ford Cortina which is pretty much his baby. The car is utterly gorgeous & I was even treated to a ride in it to the location!

There's something so stylish but simple about that car! Even though it was clear, January sunlight is kinda sparse so it really makes everything pop. Joe also kindly said I can use the car in future, which I am SO excited for!

Be sure to check the guy's music out over on Facebook & give them a like!

Advanced Photographer Jan 2012 Publication

Already a fantastic start to 2012 sees a publication in Advanced Photographer Magazine, Jan 2012 issue!
I was featured in the 'Photo Projects' Article with some images from my 365 project that ran from 2009-2010 with a small interview also.

It was a complete honour to be published in the magazine and alongside some fantastic photographers who make my 365 creativity look so feminine in comparison!
If you are thinking about starting up a 365 project, or even a 52 one then definitely grab a copy of the magazine for some top tips and inspirations.

I can'r recommend a 365/52 project enough, and the start of the year is a fantastic time to start up - if you are starting one, then feel free to e-mail/message/comment your URL link and I'll be sure to keep up with your progress!

The Bath Magazine Publication, Dec 2011

A week before Christmas and what a lovely time to release some Christmas interior spreads!
I really enjoy working with the team over at The Bath Magazine, and this shoot was one of my favourite. We were invited into a £1.4million pound house to decorate for a lovely festive spread.

Johanne from Passion supplied the gorgeous flowers, where she had made up some fresh ideas for Christmas decorations than the traditional!

I adore the festive berry colours, the roses and the plums mixed with green, and the pine cone idea - wrapped in ribbon, so simple yet beautiful!

Wishing you all a lovely warm & Happy Christmas...
